The aim of the project is to ensure that shallow surface water conditions can be consistently maintained across the spring and summer periods across the Marches Mosses. This phase of works targeted the Whixall and Bettisfield Mosses as well as Wem Moss near Whitchurch. The habitat will provide favourable habitat for waders and wildfowl and the development of the wetland will also improve carbon storage. Works will involve the creation of 2 ponds, creation of stone access platform and car park works as well as drainage works and creation of a plastic sheet piled wall to support the canal embankment.
