Sennen Cove – RNLI Emergency

Following the creation of the new channel cut through the rock some time ago (see photos) we have returned in reponse to emergency clearance works in the launch channel. Apparently materials deposited after recent storms off the south west coast obstructed the channel of the new Tamar Lifeboat at Sennen Cove, near Lands End and prevented launching of the life boat.

A 22m long reach excavator from WM Plant was mobilised at short notice to clear the channel of obstructions at low tides, working from the beach. After 2 days the lifeboat was once again to launch safely and play its vital role in marine safety and rescue.
