Critical Flood Defence Project completed

Working with Hart District Council and Johns Associates, the project at Cricket Hill was to both restore and enhance the Pond. The works included the removal of silt and vegetation and the formation of a retaining structure to store the dredged material. The existing island was improved to increase the amenity value to the village while still allowing the council to create essential flood water storage required. An improvement in water quality as a result of the desilting together with the creation of an island habitat yielded ecological benefits too.
