With funding from the Canoe Foundation and working with the Shropshire Wildlife Trust improvements to the landing structure were carried out at Hampton Loade as part of larger ambitious project for a 70-mile canoe trail on the upper Severn from Welshpool to Worcestershire.  

The scope of works included constructing a new oak canoe platform and reprofiling the river bank to form an access pass from the carpark to the platform.  Works were completed April 2020.
