The ‘Mill Waters Project’ in Nottinghamshire aimed to promote Ashfield’s visitor economy by showcasing a local heritage site and protecting wildlife in the reservoir.  

Working with Ashfield District Council our scope of works on this project included dredging at Kingsmill Reservoir to improve water quality and wetland habitat to enhance the hydrology of the area with the strategic formation of islands to re-use the silt and create wildlife areas. 

The coir pallets were planted on the islands to encourage wildlife and scour protection placed on the inlet sluice channel.  A lake aeration system was also installed.
