The Meadows Pool Desilting

A new residential development encompassed an old pool and watercourse and was a key landscape feature of the site. Recent events has led to the pool being silted up with vegetation choking the aquatic life in the pool.

The works included the removal of herbage and silt from site, working within a residential area and to minimise disturbance to the surrounding area.

A long reach excavator was used with low ground pressure tracks to work from outside the pool area on the adjacent field. A reed cutting bucket was used removed the vegetation and reduce the impact on the pool lining. The material was loaded into sealed lorries for disposal.
